Resort Review: Courtyard Marriott Nusa Dua
Catriona Rowntree reviews one of the most spectacular beach side resorts in Bali, Courtyard by Marriott Nusa Dua.
I'll be honest, I arrived at this hotel completely pooped after a non-stop stretch of work. Can you relate to that? So the joy upon arrival, to this oasis of calm, was palpable. The hotel is set within the safe, peaceful, luxe surrounds of Nusa Dua, but it has its own distinct personality. It's not set on the beach, but back in a lush green sanctuary. The pools are long, languid and at the centre of the hotel. We sampled wonderful food at the surrounding restaurant, which lit up at night to look like a local market. It's open, modern and seriously yummy.
My happy place was definitely the spa – hey, I'm a working Mum so cut me some slack. I fell into the chairs there as my feet were massaged, and I wish I could tell you more but I slept through most of my experience. I always think this is a great compliment though. So after a drink of fresh coconut water, literally straight out of a coconut, and a nice massage, I felt ready to search for the sea.
Boy was this a change of scene. The hotel has a prime position on the main beach for their very own private beach club. You get there by a quick buggy ride (feel free to stop off and do some shopping at the small mall) and there's a jolt of energy the moment you arrive.I met one happy holiday maker after another. Kids loved the kids’ club; parents loved the straight out relaxing, central location, option of peaceful pools and exquisite beach. I think this is perfect for families, as I met children of all ages who seemed super satisfied. But if you’re looking to just escape and enjoy an amazing hotel in a safe environment, then Courtyard Marriott Nusa Dua is calling your name.
