It’s no secret that we love a ‘gram photo opp here at Scoopon, so when a place with food as photogenic as that 👆 comes along, we can’t bear to keep it to ourselves. Say ‘hola’ to ALMA, the Avalon gem serving up the tastiest, freshest, most innovative and downright Insta-worthy Mexican cuisine this side of Cabo.

As featured in Urban List Sydney’s ‘7 Restaurants You Need to Hit Up This Month’, ALMA is known for its contemporary, uniquely Aussie take on Mexican flavours. Think roasted Australian crickets (yep, the weirdly delicious bugs!) with a chilli and lime seasoning, Seven Point Australian pork with fennel, grapefruit and parsley salsa, queso garlic puree and smoked jalapenos, and the mouth-watering coconut churros bowl.

But don’t go thinking ALMA is all style and no substance. In addition to the jaw-dropping visuals, the flavours will just about blow your mind. No, really. Try the whole snapper - it’ll change your life.

And don’t worry, taco-lovers, you’re well catered for here. Our favourite fillings are the Tecate beer-battered ling, the crispy pork belly and the fried brussels sprouts. Can’t decide on one? ¿Por qué no todos? (Why not all?)

The team are also super passionate about fresh, locally-sourced produce, seafood and organic wines, so you can enjoy your little taste of Mexico in peace, knowing you’re supporting the Northern Beaches and surrounding areas.
