Constructed from environmentally-friendly materials and nestled among the natural beauty of the Nusa Dua beachfront, Meliá almost feels as though it was always part of the landscape.

Not only is the team dedicated to reducing their (and your) carbon footprint, but the resort also happens to be one of the island's best. We're talking a huge lagoon-style pool, five restaurants and all-inclusive luxury.

Surely we had you at 'Hawaii', right? You're probably picturing the hotel-lined tourist hot spot of Wakiki, but off Oahu and on the Big Island lies the eco-friendly (and ridiculously beautiful) Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

First opened way back in 1965, Mauna Kea was completely revamped in 2008 and now has a reputation as one of the Island of Hawaii's most sustainable resorts, boasting conservation initiatives and even its own beekeeping program. Of course, as you can see above, it isn't short on natural beauty, either!

Everything is totally paperless here (even the menus are on screens) and there's even an onsite bamboo farm. You can also expect to see plenty of bamboo straws and electric scooters and buggies!

With its spacious, modern rooms, lagoon-style swimming pool, lush backdrop and beachfront position, the Radisson Blu is the perfect place to reset and recharge. But if you need more action, you also happen to be just minutes from the Vinpearl Land amusement park, Vinpearl Safari animal conservation park and surrounding golf courses.

For eco-friendly holidays, it's hard to go past New Zealand. Our mates across the Tasman sure do know how to create spectacular, relaxing and sustainable accommodation, and Kamana Lakehouse is the perfect example.

Located just minutes from the region's top attractions, Kamana Lakehouse also happens to be the highest altitude hotel in Queenstown. And in keeping with its beautiful natural surroundings, the team have implemented a number of environmentally-friendly measures, like the use of paper and metal straws, refillable glass bottles and plant-based toiletries.
