Our Anti-Boredom Guide to the School Holidays

With school holidays just around the corner, many parents are dreading hearing those two little words – “I’m booooored”! But never fear – to help keep the kids busy these holidays, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite family-friendly activities in each state to bring you the ultimate anti-boredom guide… without breaking the bank.

If you’re in Melbourne

Rap Jumping

If you’ve got a family full of adrenalin junkies, then this is a must-do these school holidays. Rap jumping sees you harnessed up and running face-first down the side of a seven-storey building. It’s got the heart-pumping thrill of bungee jumping with the skill and control of abseiling… and valid for ages 7 and up, it’s something the whole family will be talking about till next school holidays!

Kryal Castle

This award-winning medieval theme park has been a family favourite for a while now… and it’s not hard to see why. Taking you back in time to a legendary land of adventure, there’s loads to see and do, like getting lost in the iconic maze, jousting, live shows and plenty more. A fun day out the whole family will enjoy!

If you’re in Sydney

Springfest 4 Kids

If the kids haven’t already begged you to take them here, Springfest 4 Kids is a pop up fun park that’ll be in Moore Park from 23 September to 4 October these school holidays. And packed with rides such as the Dodgem Cars, Sizzler, Play Land, Pirate Ship and loads more, this will be a real treat for the kiddlywinks!

Ten pin bowling is one of those activities that everyone thinks is a bit old fashioned… but when you get there, everyone has the best time (can never beat the classics, eh?). Bowlarama in Wetherill Park offers the perfect setting for a fun indoor activity, with plenty of lanes to use, video jukebox, arcade games AND a fully licensed bar for the adults. Sounds like fun right?
